Canyon Trekking
A hot tip for the adventurously-minded is a trekking tour of 2 to 5 days, with or without a guide, through the almost pristine wilderness in the northern reaches of the Fish River Canyon. Hikers follow game paths across plateaus, along slopes littered with stones and rocks and through narrow gorges right down to the bed of the Fish River. Nights are spent in the open or in small camps. On guided tours hikers carry their own gear; on unguided tours they also carry their own provisions. Groups must consist of at least three participants and they have to be physically fit (medical certificate required).
