Okavango, Caprivi and Vic Falls The Okavango River meanders through the yellow-green African landscape like a blue ribbon. Every now and then the resounding deep grunts of hippos can be heard, here and there a crocodile is sunbathing on the sandy riverbank and the continuous twittering of the colourful birdlife completes the picture. The lush northeast of Namibia forms a delightful contrast to the bush savannah, semi-desert and desert in the rest of the country. The attractions of this region are the Popa Falls, the abundance of game in the river scenery of Caprivi and, naturally, the Victoria Falls.
