Vacancy for Park Warden at the Gondwana Canyon Park, Fish River Canyon

The Warden of the Gondwana Canyon Park is responsible for ensuring that the Park is managed and developed in conformity with the approved Park Management Plan to the highest industry standards by applying dedication and the most appropriate current practices. The Warden is also responsible for assisting the Gondwana Canyon lodges as required with their environmental management plans and other environmental issues; promoting a landscape co-management approach by playing an active and constructive role within the Greater Fish River Canyon Landscape; building and maintaining open and constructive relationships with all Gondwana personnel in the Park as well as with stakeholders across the landscape; supervising park staff and building the capacity of staff to create a dynamic team to manage the park in an efficient and cost-effective way; ensuring that all aspects of park monitoring are undertaken effectively, including game counts, veld assessment, camera trapping and monitoring of rare and high value species; and actively promoting the Park by sharing information, interesting sightings and being sensitive to marketing opportunities, both locally and more broadly.

Vacancies for Guides & Activities Officers


Liaise with guests, actively promote activities, and carry out game/nature/sundowner drives as well as walking trails or any other activities offered at the lodge. Ensure guests feel welcome and in good capable hands. Deliver the excellent hospitality and customer care.


· Competent in speaking English fluently. German and Afrikaans will be an advantage
· Have the physical stamina to perform the duties and going the extra mile
· Have basic understanding of numeracy
· Have completed Grade 10 or have worked in the hospitality industry for three years
· Have had training as a NATH registered guide or in the process of NATH training
· Have a valid code 8 driver’s license and a valid PDP, code 10/C will be an advantage
· Must be able to drive 4 X 4 vehicles
· First aid certificate level A will be an advantage
