Jam sessions create awareness of service excellence

Avatar of inke inke - 12. August 2015 - Gondwana Collection

A jam session in the Namib (ltr): The Professors Gavin Gold and Jo Popp, Richard Redecker and Dave Carroll with cameraman Manfred Werner.

As part of the initiative “The Power of One Voice” the Canadian musician and speaker, Dave Carroll, has been on tour in Namibia with Gondwana Collection (one of the event sponsors) from 6 to 12 August to promote his service delivery message and to promote his travels through some of Namibia’s tourist highlights for people around the world who have been following his trip online. He was accompanied by the South African rock duo “The Professors” and the Namibian musician Richard Redecker.

The trip included visits to Sossusvlei, Walvis Bay and SwakopmundTwyfelfontein and the Etosha National Park, which was infused with spontaneous jamming sessions and the heartfelt Namibian hospitality extended by the different Gondwana lodges.

Back in Windhoek Dave Carroll will be the headline speaker at a breakfast presentation addressing 350 of Namibia’s business leaders, at the Safari Court Hotel. Dave will be delivering his message of ‘The importance of customer services excellence in today’s social media connected world.’

In the evening Dave Carroll will again be the keynote speaker in the Gondwana Hall on the Windhoek Showgrounds, where he will be sharing his story with Namibian hospitality professionals. Guests will be entertained afterwards by Dave and “The Professors”.

With ‘The Power of One Voice’, a group of leading Namibian brands have united in their shared purpose to enhance national and business leader awareness of the importance of service excellence – namely Air Namibia, Bank Windhoek, Gondwana Collection, Namibia Tourism Board and Safari Hotels.

Carroll achieved social media fame after United Airlines failed to adequately respond to damage caused to his valuable Taylor guitar. His retaliatory music clip ‘United Breaks Guitars’ has reached 15 million people to date, and a cost to the airline in lost bookings of an estimated US$180 million. He has since become a sought-after speaker and customer service delivery advocate around the world.
