They venture into the unknown. They reach their limits. You will experience the ultimate adrenaline rush in Africa (f.l.t.r.): Mario Galla, Oliver Pocher, Ulf Kirsten, Lilly Becker, Nadine Angerer, Pietro Lombardi, Raúl Richter and Larissa Marolt. ©ProSieben

On 1 June, Namibia will be the site for a spectacular television show called Global Gladiators. ProSieben is promoting the TV premier using the following words: “At Global Gladiators, eight celebrities go on the Road Trip of their lives. Crossing Namibia, the gladiators expect harsh challenges and exciting adventures!” And this is the best time to go!

The eight gladiators are the singer, Pietro Lombardi, the models Larissa Marold, Lilly Becker and Mario Galla, actor Raúl Richter, comedian Oliver Pocher, as well as the soccer stars Nadine Angerer and Ulf Kirsten.

The most beautiful natural sites of our country form the dreamlike scenery for their exciting adventures and challenges. The first stop is at Oanob Dam, then the trip moves to the Fish River Canyon, where the ProSieben production team took up lodging at Canyon Lodge and Village.

“The Gondwana team at the Canyon was a big hit,” says Raphael Scriba, local service producer of the Namibian film production company Power and Glory Films.  “Their hospitality and helpfulness made the shooting easy.” According to Scriba, ProSieben want to reach six to seven million television viewers with Global Gladiators. “A great advertisement for Namibia as a travel and adventure country.

From the second largest canyon in the world, the show moves via Windhoek, to the coast to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. And further through the Zambezi Region to Zambia – with numerous stops in Namibia’s endless luxury of expanse and with nerve-racking challenges for the eight gladiators in the desert, wilderness and water, which should definitely not be missed.

The first episode of Global Gladiators will be broadcast on Thursday, 1 June, at 20:15 on ProSieben (Namibian time 19:15).
