Avatar of inke inke - 24. février 2017 - Gondwana Collection, Tourism

Large elephant families swimming, with a bit of luck you may see large zebra, buffalo and antelope herds grazing in the flood plains... You are in Camp Chobe, in the extreme southeast of the Zambezi Region. This jewel for nature and bird lovers is the latest addition to the Gondwana Collection, as from 1 March 2017.

“We are handing Camp Chobe over to the Gondwana Group because of private reasons, with both a sad and relieved heart,” says former owner Johan Liebenberg. “We built it with our own hands and we are sad to see it go. However we know Gondwana shares our love of nature and commitment to sustainability and social commitment to local communities.”

Camp Chobe was opened in 2012 and is located in the Salambala conservancy. Eco-friendly and built to use solar power, it is perfectly integrated into the landscape. The lodge complex with a restaurant, bar, souvenir shop and pool is lavishly designed.

Twenty tented chalets with en-suite bathrooms offer not only pleasant comfort, but also a fantastic view of the majestic water and wild plains of the Chobe River. A campground with six well-kept campsites (each for a maximum of ten people) and private sanitary facilities, invite you to spend a few days in the midst of nature.

Camp Chobe is located along the Botswana border, the Ngoma border post is only four kilometres away. It forms the gateway to the world-famous, animal rich Chobe National Park with the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. The Victoria Falls are only 150 kilometres away and offer an ideal day excursion.
