Tiger Fishing Season is in full swing and Zambezi Mubala Camp & Lodge want to join in on the fun! Now we know that the rod is man’s best friend, but more than just the fisherman’s paradise we would like to cater for the fisherman’s wife as well – by offering the best possible getaway while hubby is on the water. Of course, we do believe that the rod could be woman’s best friend too!

Bass Angling Association runs out of water

Eleven members of the Namibia Bass Angling Association (NBAA) gathered at Oanob Dam on the weekend of 27 and 28 April 2019 in an attempt to qualify for the international 2020 Bass Nation Championship in the United States. Determining factors for good results are accurate throwing, patience, knowing the area and the behaviour of the fish, the choice of fishing tackle and artificial lures, as well as a little bit of luck.

It is not a surprise that Gondwana Collection is on this mountain biking roller-coaster for the second time, with two social and two competitive teams entered. Furthermore, Gondwana looks forward to welcoming cyclists at the Langer Heinrich water point for a quick stop, drink and snack.

Namibia boasts 14 surf angling clubs

Surf fishing means catching fish from the shoreline or wading in the surf. Namibia has 14 surf fishing clubs, and the various species of fish are caught on a catch-and-release basis. The clubs are affiliated to the Namibian Surf Angling Association (NSAA) which arranges five annual contests on the coast of Namibia. Contests are held within those sections on a ten-kilometre stretch of beach for a day.

Sporting the oldest desert on earth, Namibia is known as a desert country. Perennial rivers are few, but where there is water there is fish, and where there is fish there is angling. The riverine landscapes of the northeast are a freshwater angler’s dream. A large variety of fish is found in the Okavango, Kwando, Linyanti, Chobe and Zambezi rivers. Six angling associations are affiliated to the Namibia Federation for Freshwater Anglers (NFFA).
