Activity tourism is the current buzzword and what could be nicer than combining a photo safari through Namibia with playing golf under the African skies at the various golf courses all over the country? After a relaxing stay at a tourism lodge near Namibia’s famous Etosha National Park, golf courses are not far away at Otjiwarongo, Tsumeb or Grootfontein.

Another two attractive lodges will be added to the product range of the Gondwana Collection Namibia on 1 May 2019. Well-known Palmwag Lodge with its large concession area has been a popular holiday destination in Damaraland for many years. It is the gateway to sparsely populated Kaokoland where adventure beckons. The second property, Omarunga Lodge, is located close to the Epupa Falls on the banks of the Kunene River in the far north of the Kunene Region.

Dirt roads, desert & starlit dinner

22. mars 2019, inke - Gondwana Collection, Tourism

There are few things as liberating as hitting the road to the south. The mere thought of the transition from tar road to gravel already conveys a holiday feeling that replenishes the spirit. With an all-girls group of friends, we set off to Namib Desert Camping2Go’s recently introduced campsite in the south. We wanted… needed to be as close to nature as possible. To soak up the sounds of nature when sitting around the campfire at night.

On the Road again: from Damaraland to Etosha and the Okavango River

19. mars 2019, inke - Gondwana Collection, Tourism

After a good rest I am full of beans for the next leg of the journey – the Etosha-Cuvelai Route, which leads from the heart of the country to the north, and I head eastwards towards the town of Outjo, the gateway to Etosha National Park. Every visit to Etosha is a surprise, revealing something new. From here I continue through the Owambo regions heading northeast. Anticipation starts to build up as I enter this greener part of the country with its perennial river systems.
