Have you ever wondered what it would be like to experience the heart of the Namib Desert from a bird’s perspective? As from 1 May 2018, the Namib Desert Lodge offers Powered Paragliding to its guests. The Gondwana Collection partnered with Wild Air Safaris to provide guests with an adventure of a lifetime.

“This is a fantastic and unforgettable way to safely enter the Namibian sky,” says Erick Jayet from Wild Air Safaris. “We offer tandem flights with a motorized paraglider and an experienced pilot. With its beautiful and varied landscapes, Namibia is probably one of the most attractive countries for powered paragliding in the world and the Namib Desert Lodge one of the best locations.”

The 20 minute flights can be booked and paid directly at the Namib Desert Lodge (N$2900 pp) and are subject to availability. The minimum age to take part in this Powered Paragliding Adventure is 10 years. Gondwana Card rebates do not apply. However, there are special rates for Namibians and South Africans (N$2400 pp). Safety is our first priority and we only offer our motorized paragliding flights in perfect weather conditions.
